The 2-week mission in Yangon, Myanmar for Alliance for Smiles was an incredible experience. My job was to document the children, take before and after surgery photos, and for the cleft palates, take intra-oral photos during surgery. Then, do a follow up report of the day’s activities. You can see those articles and photos here. At the end of the mission, I put together a short slide show video of the 2 weeks.
The Burmese people are beautiful, kind, helpful, gentle, and generous. Their smiles light up rooms.
I wanted to take all the children home with me!
From the time we arrived, to the time we left, we worked non-stop at the hospital. We had one day off to sightsee at National Land Mark Garden, Bogyoke Market, and Shwezigon Pagoda. The weather was relentlessly hot and humid throughout the two weeks.
83 Children had their smiles fixed, and their lives transformed forever!
